This area of Zion often has beautiful pools of collected rainwater. Today was especially nice with the stormy clouds rolling in over the lovely mountain scene.

The pools of water are often filled with tadpoles, and later in the season if there has been enough rain, frogs. I like watching the tadpoles come up to the water surface. It looks so funny to see their little mouths poke out of the water, so I tried to get a picture of one. After a whole lot of watching, waiting, and missing the moment by a split second, I finally got a pic just as this little guy broke the surface.
