We hiked up the East side of the Checkerboard Mesa to reach the top and check out the view. It was a pretty tough climb, and near the top there was a lot of scrambling up over rocks.

We were hoping to get a stunning vista from the top, but the view was not as rewarding as the climb up. From this viewpoint we're looking out across the east toward the Coral Pink Sanddunes and Kanab.
