The riverbed which runs through East Zion National Park is a great hike, even though it's not techically a trail at all. It can be hiked in small sections at a time, from HWY 9, or in one long 10+ mile hike. The canyon walls narrow and widen and the terrain changes dramatically. I never hiked the entire river bed in one stretch, but I have hiked every section of it in various pieces. This spot, with the old weather-beaten tree was a pleasant surprise, that I was not expecting to find.
